PSA 9 Tropical Mega Battle Prize sells for $25k

The Tropical Mega Battle was an invite-only Pokémon TCG event held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village from 1999 to 2001 that brought together top players from the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Japan. Attendance was small at roughly 50 competitors per year, and the tournament is widely regarded as the direct precursor to the modern World Championships. Prize and participant promos from these events, such as the 1999 Tropical Wind, were produced in very limited quantities and were given only to attendees and winners, which is a major reason they are so coveted today. There are only 3 graded in a 10 with one selling for $65k in 2020.
